Last year they tried to host a similar panel on Sunday and noone showed for it, not even the host.  I even went to an early mass so that I wouldn't miss it.  This was disappointing because I attend conventions when I can, partly for a small amount of education on the topic of anime.  I did learn a bit last year though.  I am just hoping this doesn't happen again.

Well keep in mind one thing guys, I am going to show what I think is the most popular and well known of the old stuff Friday, but I'll only show snippets and talk about the shows briefly and other related shows from the same artist or company if they put it out (i.e. Gainax).  I have decided too that because there is only 1 hour per panel that I will do what I can and clean up the rest of old school anime with a 102 panel next year.  I'll do my best to get you info on the stuff of tomorrow and hope to have a list ready for reference.  It may not hurt to bring a pad though.

(puts his feet in a tub of warm water soaking)  Well guys, this is your ol' panda coming to ya from his bedroom telling ya that the Old School Anime 101 panel went over quite well!  I had around 12 audience members and was quite happy to see the interest and regard for OSA was so receptive, that I am planning on having an Old School Anime 102 for Tsubasacon 5 or '08 or whatever.  I'll cover the stuff we didn't get to this time with more specific emphasis on the harder to find anime then and 90's anime.  Also, I'm gonna try to get brief synopses for the masters of anime:  Osamu Tezuka, Leiji Matsumoto, Hayao Myazaki, Rumiko Takahashi, Monkey Punch, Go Nagai, and others.  Let me know if you would like anything for me to include, and i'll see about incorporating it into the panel.  Thanks guys, I had a blast and let's do it again next year!!!!! ^_^

I now have Go Nagai's Shuten Doji (episodes 3 and 4)but it's probably not hard to find since I won it.  I found a few that we discussed at dinner on amazon but have not been able to buy them (con finances-not broke but need to cut back for a little).

I definately vote for Some Robot Carnival action! That one holds a special place in my heart and its not on DVD
